EEPROM data logging lets you record your robot’s sensor and program states during a match, then display them afterward in the BASIC Stamp Editor Debug Terminal - an excellent way to troubleshoot and analyze the performance of your program strategies. Activities include friction analysis, self-calibrating sensors, memory optimization with multipurpose variables and a sensor flags register, and state-machine diagrams for sensor-based navigation. Once you have your SumoBot robots up and running, give them a competitive edge and expand your skills by following the step-by-step activities in Applied Robotics with the SumoBot (5MB pdf). ![]() The SumoBot Manual (1MB pdf) has assembly instructions and test programs that take you from basic moves to one-on-one combat. This SumoBot kit comes with two printed texts. The hardware package includes black anodized aluminum chassis and scoops, servo motors, wheels, 4AA power packs (batteries not included), mounting standoffs, and screws for two complete SumoBot robots. Additional components include piezospeakers, resistors, pushbuttons and LEDs to build custom breadboard circuits for program mode selection and sensor state feedback. ![]() The electronics consists of a built-in surface-mounted BASIC Stamp 2 module and an array of infrared sensors to detect your opponent and the edge of the Sumo Ring. This kit comes with all the parts you need to build and program two high-quality SumoBot Robots designed to wrestle in the mini-sumo competition ring (included in the kit!). Great job Storm!! Keep up the good work.Parallax SumoBot Robots included in the SumoBot Robot Competition Kit. The Aeroflo core appears to do it's job well, but the Traction X7 cover on the Atomic core would be nice, too! Wink, wink. It's just right for my game and I look forward to Storm putting the cover on other weight blocks or cores. Again, I think the Parallax is a great ball and it should be in the running for ball of the year, behind the Axiom. The new Traction X7 cover is quickly becoming my favorite of all the product line. Strikes are coming in bunches for me and it's all due to the new coverstock. Also, it will not burn up or roll out like some of the stronger heavy oil balls when the heads start to go or there is not enough oil. It does not overreact to the friction, yet it is still strong. ![]() Storm got this one right! For me, the Parallax is the perfect balance of strong, yet controllable on the lanes. Yes, even better than the Physix, which was also a great ball. In my opinion, the Storm Parallax is the best hybrid ball that the company has produced in a very long time. Video link: Glenn Wendel PBA Member Storm Pro Shop Staff kEncEmailhxfoefmAdpndbtu/ofu I don't write many ball reviews, but I do have to give credit where credit is due. This ball has a lot of hook for a shiny ball. The Parallax rolls great on heavier patterns. Summary: The Parallax uses a new core to compensate for the new balance hole rules. This ball was a nice surprise especially with a weaker layout for me. When I need a big hooking polished ball but with less angle than the Axiom the trend is on point. My Parallax is much stronger than my Trend but surprisingly my Axiom Pearl is stronger than my Parallax. In most cases less is more on the layout allowing the ball to store energy for better carry. I feel these newer balls that take in account the no balance hole rule do not need to be drilled too strong to react great. The Parallax is a heavy rolling ball with just the right amount of back end motion. I drilled the next one weaker in relation to the MB and Pin and bam! I now have a hit for what we typically bowl on when they oil them up a bit more than usual. I like it but will regulate this layout to tournament conditions where there is more head oil. I drilled my first one with the Mass Bias mark on my VAL and the pin 3-3/4 from PAP which resulted in the ball reading too early and responding too early for our house conditions even with my lower rev rate. Speed at cameras 15.5 Review: The new Storm Parallax is a very strong polished Hybrid bowling ball.
